Working with community-based organisations, Usha ran field-level awareness meetings to strengthen understanding of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender-Based Violence, and the implications of the Hon’ble Supreme Court ruling on the rights of sex workers.
The meetings created safe and inclusive spaces where sex workers could discuss health, safety, legal rights and access to services openly. A total of 1,249 meetings reached 12,490 sex workers across multiple locations.
A further 139 sensitisation meetings were held with healthcare providers, district health officials, doctors, TB unit staff, police and banks, reaching 3,763 participants and strengthening institutional responsiveness.
