Mr. Amitava Bhattacharya contributed to the development and strengthening of the cooperative sector in West Bengal over almost three decades in the state’s Cooperation Department.
He worked closely with state-level cooperative banks, consumer cooperatives and multipurpose cooperative societies, supporting their governance, management and operational growth, and played an important role in the government guarantee system within the three-tier Short-Term Credit Structure supported by NABARD.
